survival class
Hi I missed the map and compass class and was disappointed to say the least!! However, is there a way we can have a survival class @REI. If your are hiking in the woods and get stranded for a couple days what do you need to do to stay ... Read morealive??? I would absolutely love to attend a class like this!!!

Catawba Falls hike
This area has been opened to the public and is part of the Pisgah Natl Forest now from what i understand. its a nice hike only about 2 miles one way make a nice day hike. Its located in Old Fort NC easy to find but parking is limited.

Rafting Cheoah River
Just outside Robinsville NC, another one of the best rivers to raft. Very limited times they run, only 4 releases last year and don't know about 2010 yet. NOC is the outfitter. Great trip and small boats.
